Fill in the scuffs with white correction fluid before you clean them with your shoe polish. They are cream correction fluid also which you can use on cream coloured shoes.

Scuff marks in coloured shoes can be covered up with acrylic paints or car body paint repair pens, then polish as normal.

Use an old toothbrush and tooth paste, then wipe off with a damp rag or rinse under cold water. The buckle will shine like new.

To restore scuffed or pressed suede, brush over with light sand paper.

Isn't it annoying when the tips come off your shoe laces. Well never fear, dip them in glue and shape to a point or paint them with clear nail varnish. Let them dry before using them again.

Removing Salt Stains From Shoes

Use your vehicles interior polish, something like Armour Oil will do the trick.  It will clean off the salt and place a protective coating on your shoes at the same time.  

Removing Salt Stains From Suede Shoes

With suede you can't use oil based cleaners as they will stain the suede more than the salt.  Try a mild blend of 1 teaspoon of dish washing detergent and fabric softener in 500 ml of luke warm water.  First brush the suede with a shoe brush to loosen and remove any salt and dirt that may be removed.  Spray some of the solution on evenly over the suede and lightly brush it in.  Wide off with a cloth dampened with clean water.  Allow to dry then rub the suede with light sand paper to recover the texture.
