These devotionals on faith are based on true experiences in my life.
I have come to love this whole chapter of Palms. It has become one of my favourite pieces of scripture that I hold dear in my life. When the Spirit directed me to this portion of scripture I was in the midst of me having a pity party. I was young and thought I had the cat by the tail in my Christian life. I was upset because of finances and I was questioning the Lord on this subject. I asked Him, "Why do the wicked have all the money and we have to do everything with scratch and work to the bone to achieve at least what one considers something professional? Why do we have to wait and struggle each day of our lives just to survive? Why do those who do whatever they can to hurt, steal and maim others have all the money and get all they want whenever they want it? I can just believe well over 80 percent of the Christians out there have asked themselves these questions, even just once in their lives. I have learned a valuable thing in my walk with Him concerning money.
In my ministry there were many times I had the wolves out there ready to devour me. When the rich want their money there is no wait written in their terms of conditions. Hoping that there is enough space I will testify of the Lord and His wonderful mercy and love for me.
I
remember when my wife and I went to a tent
meeting one night. I had just stepped out into
full time ministry. We did not have much. As a
matter of fact I only had a twenty dollar bill,
with three dollars and 78 cents in change in my
pocket. We did not have very much food in our
house either. When the collection plate was
being passed I heard the Lord say, "Give
all that you have". I argued with Him of
course but I knew what I had to do. I told my
wife and she said that she was told to do the
same. She had around seven dollars in change in
her purse. We gave it all to the Lord. On the way home we talked about it together and we
prayed and told God we loved and trusted Him.
When we got home, we noticed that the flag on
our mailbox was up. We knew we had already got
the mail that day and found it strange. I opened
the mailbox and there was an envelope in it. I
took it out and gave it to my wife. The envelope
only had 'Because of your obedience' on
it. We opened it and there was 300 dollars
in it. We were startled and amazed. We danced
before the Lord that night and with praise we
Thanked Him.
Another time I remember things were really
tight. We had 3 children and we had very little
food in the house. I had invited this Pastor and
his wife over the day before for supper. My wife
was not too happy with me. I told her that God
has never failed us and that this was an
important thing for us to do. She was not too
impressed. I said just watch what the Lord will
do. The next day it got to be around 3 pm and we had
nothing in the house to feed this Pastor and his
wife. I still remember to this day and I keep it next
to my heart when I need to encourage myself in
the Lord. A car pulled in the driveway. This
woman that we knew got out of the car with her 4
kids. She opened the trunk and gave packages to
her kids and picked up a large box and started
to carry it to the house. I ran out to help her
because it looked heavy. They came inside and
set the box and packages on the table. She went
on to say that she was working today and Pat and
I were on her mind all day long. She said that she
brought this stuff to us because she had never
said thank you for all the work we had done for
her and her kids. After some tears and hugs they
left. Pat and I opened the box. We were so
startled. The box was about 2.5 ft. square and
was filled with baby spareribs. The packages had
fruit and vegetables in them. We feasted that
night and again thanked the Lord.
You must understand something about my ministry. I have never asked or even passed a basket for well over 30 years. God has always seen us through every major crisis. I have never told anyone of my needs and have been criticized for it by many. There has been a couple of times I did and believe me it turned out a disaster for me. I am not saying at all that this is how one should operate in their lives or ministry. It is what God has expected of me, not you. I have been obedient, and have held shut my mouth many times in hard times.
I will share a couple of other stories next week. Again I remind you that God will always be there for you. Keep your faith by speaking out scriptures to yourself. A good friend of mine and I have always remarked to each other that God is a last minute God. Not always but most of the time :o) but He is ALWAYS there. Praise You Jesus!!!!!!

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Pr. 4:23
Father,
you are so special and it is awesome to have you as our Daddy. You are from
above and you are our provider and ending faith. I ask you Father to
meet the needs of those reading this right now. I send your Spirit to them to
speak to them and guide them with your anointing. Meet their need according to
your riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Teach us and guide us through your
Spirit on giving and tithing. Open your Word and we will open our hearts and
obey. We are persuaded to walk by faith not by sight or fear.
We
love you!
Amen!
We at JLYM.COM exclaim that Jesus Loves You!!!! He Really Does
